Mount Vernon dentist faces Medicaid fraud charges

MOUNT VERNON, Mo. — A Mount Vernon dentist was ordered bound over for trial this week in Lawrence County Circuit Court on three counts of Medicaid fraud and a single count of obstruction.

Associate Court Judge Scott Sifferman found probable cause at a preliminary hearing Thursday to order Thomas H. Alms, 62, to stand trial on the charges and set the defendant’s initial appearance in a trial division of the court for Feb. 13.
